A 36-year-old bipolar man has spent the past four years without real human contact, outside of family. He took comfort Sunday evening in a Reddit AMA, or "Ask me Anything," a casual way for users to interact with celebrities, or someone with a unique condition or uncommon role in life.
The interview came after the man, who is an avid Reddit user himself, responded to an earlier post about how other users were affected by technology.
"Being online has saved and transformed my life; it's been my window on the world and given me a voice and opportunities that I never would have had otherwise," he wrote in the thread, noting that he'd hardly left his room in the past year.
